Mental Health Guide: Cover & Advertisement

The Mental Health Guide is a special edition issue published by the Daily Titan, California State University, Fullerton’s independent student-run newspaper. The issue features articles focused on mental health, particularly strategies for students to support their well-being during midterm season.

I designed the cover using illustrations that represent positive mental health, including themes of creativity, intelligence, and growth. These concepts are visualized through symbolic objects placed within the figure’s “mind.” The Montserrat typeface complements the Daily Titan’s sans-serif logo, maintaining visual consistency across the publication. A lavender color palette was chosen to evoke calmness and relaxation, reinforcing the publication’s theme.

In addition to the cover, I designed a back cover advertisement aligned with the mental health theme while also promoting Winter Session for CSUF’s Extension and International Programs. This ad was awarded 1st Place for Best House Ad at the Pinnacle College Media Awards during the 2021 ACP/CMA Fall National Media Convention.
